WIB Fair 2026 to showcase 200 women-owned businesses in Abuja

Abuja will host more than 200 women-owned businesses at the 2026 Women in Business Fair (WIB Fair), a four-day marketplace expected to connect entrepreneurs, shoppers, investors and corporate partners ahead of Nigeria’s year-end retail season.

The fair will run from November 5 to 8 at Eagle Square, Central Area, Abuja, with activities beginning daily at 9:00 a.m. Organisers have announced free entry for members of the public.

Under the theme “When Women Show Up,” WIB Fair 2026 will combine product exhibitions, business seminars, networking sessions, mentoring opportunities, food and entertainment.

The event aims to give women-led businesses greater market exposure while creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to connect with customers, suppliers and potential investors.

WIB Fair 2026 targets women-led businesses and growing SMEs

The marketplace will feature more than 200 women-owned businesses across different industries, including fashion, beauty, food, agriculture, household products and professional services.

Beyond product sales, the organisers have included business seminars covering global market entry and export opportunities. The programme also features a children’s activity zone, giving families another reason to attend.

The combination of business education and direct consumer engagement makes the fair more than a conventional trade exhibition. Entrepreneurs will have opportunities to showcase products, gather customer feedback, build business relationships and potentially attract new distribution partners.

Real estate will also feature in the programme. According to a report by Independent Newspapers, property company JESD is partnering with the fair to promote women’s property ownership through a dedicated pavilion expected to connect visitors with real estate professionals and investment opportunities.

Why the event matters for Abuja’s SME economy

The timing of the fair could give participating businesses an important commercial advantage.

With the December shopping season approaching, small businesses are entering a period when consumer spending typically creates opportunities for increased sales and customer acquisition.

For many women-led businesses that rely heavily on Instagram, WhatsApp and other digital platforms, a physical marketplace offers something different: direct interaction with customers.

Shoppers can inspect products, compare prices and make purchases, while business owners can test demand and identify products that attract the most attention.

The fair could also generate opportunities for businesses outside the exhibition space, particularly logistics companies, payment providers, packaging suppliers, photographers, food vendors and event service providers.

However, the long-term value will depend on what exhibitors do after the event. Collecting customer contacts, maintaining relationships and following up on potential partnerships could turn four days of exposure into sustained business growth.

Vendor registration and booth fees

The official WIB Fair website lists an exhibitor registration option with an advertised booth fee of ₦400,000, alongside a ₦380,000 full-payment offer.

However, the organiser’s vendor terms state that outstanding balances were due by October 5, 2026, with booth allocations made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Since that deadline has passed, businesses interested in exhibiting should contact the organisers directly to confirm available spaces and eligibility before making payments.

The organisers also state that confirmed vendor payments are non-refundable. Prospective exhibitors should therefore verify all registration details before transferring funds.
